The cabinet of Andhra Pradesh has given its nod to establish a 250 MW solar project in Mylavaram, Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh. The solar project will make use of 1,200 acres of government land in Vaddirala and Dhodium villages. The land has been leased for 33 years to Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Private Limited through Adani Solar Energy AP Eight Private Limited.
The state’s solar energy sector is rapidly expanding. Earlier in May 2025, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited issued a tender to develop an inter-state transmission system to integrate 3 GW of renewable energy at the Ananthapuram-II renewable energy zone, Phase II in Andhra Pradesh.
Furthermore, in May 2025, Bondada Engineering Limited received approval to develop a 2.6 GWp solar power project in Andhra Pradesh.
