NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has issued a tender to establish a hydrogen refueling station for its green hydrogen mobility project at Kandla, Gujarat. The selected bidder will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the refueling station, along with 20 years of operation and maintenance. Additionally, the station will be integrated with an electrolyser system capable of producing 18 kg of hydrogen per hour.
The project will include a hydrogen compression system with a rated capacity of 20 kg per hour, compressing hydrogen to 500 bar. It will also include a storage facility capable of holding 420 kg of hydrogen in high-pressure cylinder cascades. Furthermore, renewable energy sources will also be integrated into the project, including a 40 kW solar rooftop installation and a 20 kW vertical wind turbine mounted on the building and sheds.
The refueling station will feature a dispenser system to supply hydrogen to fuel cell electric vehicles at 350 bar. An 80 kW/600 kWh battery energy storage system will be installed to support the electrolyser coolers and critical equipment, while a 25 kW hydrogen fuel cell will provide emergency power and backup during non-solar hours.
