Adani Energy bags transmission project for green hydrogen production

Adani Energy Solutions Limited has been awarded a power transmission project by PFC Consulting Limited. The aim of the project is to support the supply of 3,000 MW of renewable energy for green hydrogen and green ammonia production in Mundra, Gujarat. The project includes upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation with two 765/400 kV transformers and constructing a 75 km long 765 kV double-circuit transmission line for connecting it to the Bhuj substation.

Estimated to cost approximately Rs 28 billion, the project is scheduled for commissioning within 36 months. Additionally, it will add 150 km of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity, increasing Adani Energy’s total infrastructure to 25,928 km and 87,186 MVA, respectively. The tender was floated in October 2024, with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and Sterlite Grid 32 also participating in the bidding process.

In January 2025, Adani Energy secured the Rs 250 billion Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC transmission project to evacuate 6,000 MW of renewable energy from Rajasthan to North India and the national grid under Phase III Part I.
