Zelestra and Abastible ink PPA for solar and storage project in Chile

Zelestra and Abastible have inked a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the sale of electricity from 100 per cent renewable sources. Under this agreement, the companies will utilise a tailor-made energy solution that consists of a 220 MWdc solar PV plant and a 1 GWh battery energy storage system.

Furthermore, this hybrid plant is situated in Tarapacá, Chile, and has already commenced construction. It will generate approximately 600 GWh of renewable electricity per year. Additionally, the energy generated will be equivalent to the annual consumption of 200,000 Chilean households.

Earlier in January 2025, Zelestra and Meta expanded their clean energy relationship by inking four new Environmental Attribute Purchase Agreements (EAPAs). These new EAPAs will help support the construction of four new solar power projects in Hopkins, Lamar, Lampasas, and Henderson Counties in the US state of Texas. These four projects will have a combined capacity of 720 MWdc.
