Meta inks 760 MW clean energy contracts with Invenergy

Meta Platforms Inc. has signed four contracts with Invenergy for 760 MW of clean energy projects. This agreement brings Meta’s total clean energy procurement from Invenergy to over 1 GW. The contracted projects were formalised through Environmental Attribute Purchase Agreements (EAPAs) and include Hardin II Solar in Ohio (150 MW, expected 2024), Delilah II Solar in Texas (150 MW, expected 2025), Tip Top Solar in New Mexico (110 MW, expected 2026), and Chalk Bluff Solar in Arkansas (350 MW, expected 2027).

The new solar projects will help meet Meta’s growing energy demand while advancing its goal of powering operations with 100 per cent clean energy. The electricity generated from Invenergy’s solar facilities will contribute to local energy grids, enhancing regional reliability by delivering power to nearby homes and businesses, with Meta receiving clean energy credits for bringing new generation capacity online.

In November 2024, Meta signed an EAPA with ENGIE North America for 260 MW of renewable energy from the Sypert Branch solar project in Texas, with operations expected to begin in late 2025.
