IndiGrid, Kintech Synergy, and H.G. Infra Engineering have been selected as winners of NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam’s (NVVN) auction to develop 500 MW/1,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support. NVVN is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC.
IndiGrid 2 was allotted 250 MW at a tariff of Rs 236,999 per MW per month. Kintech was awarded 65 MW at a tariff of Rs 237,490/MW/month. H.G. Infra was allocated the remaining 185 MW at a tariff of Rs 238,000/MW/month.
According to the tender guidelines, the project capacity must be connected to either the 765 kV Bhadla-111 PS in Rajasthan or the 400 kV Banaskantha (Radhanesda) PS (GIS) in Gujarat. The BESS developer is responsible for setting up and interconnecting the BESS with the ISTS network. Furthermore, the maintenance of the transmission system up to the interconnection point will be the responsibility of the developer.
In August 2024, NVVN issued a tender inviting bids for a 7.131 MW rooftop solar project. These projects would be grid-connected and located in different areas in Bihar and Jharkhand.
