Apraava Energy has bagged a new interstate transmission project in Rajasthan. The project involves the setting up approximately 200 km of 400 kV and 765 kV transmission lines, and a 765/400 kV, 4×1500 and 400/220 kV, 5×500 MVA pooling station. This project will be responsible for facilitating the evacuation of 5.5 GW of renewable power from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone Phase IV, covering Jaisalmer and Barmer. It is also a part of the interstate green energy corridor.
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) transferred the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to Apraava. The project will be developed by Apraava under the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model. It is expected to provide transmission services for 35 years once operational. The project was secured through the Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The project will provide direct and indirect employment to nearly 1000 individuals during its two-year construction phase.
Recently, Apraava Energy signed a power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited for a 300 MW solar energy project connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) to be located in Rajasthan. In August 2024, RECPDCL transferred Rajasthan IV-A Power Transmission Limited, a project specific SPV to Apraava Energy.
