The Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) has issued a tender for the design, engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning of equipment for the 950 MW Kamalapadu pumped storage project (PSP) in Ananthapuramu district. The equipment includes three 238/270 MW and two 118/135 MW vertical Francis reversible pump turbines along with synchronous motor-generator sets.
According to the tender guidelines, the turbines and motor-generator sets must be installed within 42 months of the award of the contract. Furthermore, the powerhouse construction, along with synchronisation and commissioning of the first three units and the 400 kV GIS with the pothead yard, is required to be completed within 38 months of the contract award. The remaining two units are required to be commissioned within the following four months, with the gap between successive units not exceeding two months.
Additionally, the bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 999.3 million. The estimated value of the contract is Rs 49.96 billion. The bid submission deadline is March 13, 2026.
