Results for Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction for manufacturing, testing, packaging, forwarding, suppkying, and transporting 400 MW domestically manufactured solar modules have been announced. The projects will be located anywhere in India. The tender for the project was issued in December 2023. By quoting Rs 22.66 per Wp, Swelect Energy Systems won 100 MW, Grew Energy won 200 MW, and ReNew Photovoltaics (ReNew) won 100 MW.
The value evaluated per Wp for all bidders amounted to 22.66 million rupees. The modules and required spare parts specified in the contract must be delivered in staggered shipments over a nine-month period. Furthermore, SECI has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
In March 2024, SECI invited bids from developers for setting up 1,200 MW interstate transmission system connected solar projects along with 600 MW/ 1,200 MWh energy storage systems anywhere in India.
