Q Energy sells 73.2 MW French renewable energy portfolio to ERG

QEnergy, a European renewable energy developer, has sold a 73.2 MW French renewable energy project portfolio to Italian energy company ERG. The portfolio sold by Q Energy includes two operational solar photovoltaic farms, one in the Gironde area and the other in the Pyrénées Orientales, with a combined installed capacity of 20.4 MWp. A third solar project with a 28.8 MWp capacity, which is in the advanced construction phase, was also included in the sale. Located in the Pays de la Loire region, the project will begin operations in the second quarter of 2024.

The fourth project in the portfolio includes a 24 MW wind farm in the final phase of commissioning. This is currently undergoing repowering and is located in the Aude region. The total annual amount of energy generation from the portfolio is 125 gigawatt-hours. It will offset 64,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. The two operational solar projects and the wind farm are supported by a 20-year CfD tariff regime.

In September 2023, Q Energy started construction on Les Ilots Blandin, a 74.3 MW floating solar facility in north-west France. The plant had a capacity of 66 MW, which was increased to 74.3 MW with design improvements. Scheduled for provisional commissioning in the first quarter of 2025, it will be one of the largest floating solar plants in Europe.
