Renewables Investment Trends in India since the Covid-19 Onset

The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) has recently released a note titled “Renewables Investment Trends in India since the Covid-19 Onset”. According to IEEFA, renewable energy investments are rising again in India following the slowdown in the previous financial year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the note, from April 2021 to July 2021, investment in the Indian renewable energy sector reached $6.6 billion, surpassing the $6.4 billion investment level for financial year 2020-21. The investment amount reached in the four months is on track to overtake the $8.4 billion investment achieved in financial year 2019-20.

The note highlights the renewable energy investment trends during financial year 2020-21 and for the first four months of the current financial years.
