The National Institute of Wind Energy has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) for the development of 1 GW of offshore wind power capacity in the Gulf of Khambhat, located off the coast of Gujarat. The EOI notice comes on the back of the MNRE’s target to install at least 5 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2022. Currently, the areas identified for offshore wind power development are located near the coasts of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
