Brazil launches $154 million fund for residential solar in Amazon

The Brazilian development agency for the Amazonas Basin, the Superintendência do Desenvolvimento da Amazônia (SUDAM), and the Ministry of National Integration of Brazil have announced that the funds Fundos Constitucionais do Norte and Fundo de Desenvolvimento da Amazônia will grant loans to private individuals who are planning to develop solar power projects. According to SUDAM, a total of $154.3 million will be disbursed in 2018 for residential solar projects under the net metering scheme in the nine states of the Amazon Basin.
