MNRE releases draft guidelines for competitive bidding process to auction solar power capacity

MNRE has released the draft guidelines for the tariff-based competitive bidding process for solar projects. The key features of the draft proposal include 100 per cent land procurement at the site within three months of the signing of power purchase agreement (PPA), PPA period should not be less than 25 years from the date of scheduled commissioning, and projects should be commissioned within 13 months from the date of signing of PPA, except projects with a capacity of 250 MW and above. Such projects can be commissioned within 15 months from the date of signing of PPA.
