GUVNL announces results of its 2 GW/4 GWh standalone BESS auction

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has announced the results of its viability gap funding tender for 2,000 MW/4,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) (Phase-VII). The capacities secured by the winners and the tariffs quoted by them are as follows: Sun Drops Energia (KP Group) (445 MW/890 MWh; Rs 185,390 per MW per month), Engie Energy India (280 MW/560 MWh; Rs 187,000 per MW per month), Mecpower Solutions (65 MW/130 MWh; Rs 187,994 per MW per month), Samavist Energy Solutions (100 MW/200 MWh; Rs 188,499 per MW per month) and Stockwell Solar Services (130 MW/260 MWh; Rs 188,991 per MW per month). 

Other winners with their secured capacities and tariffs are: Solar91 Cleantech (65 MW/130 MWh; Rs 188,992 per MW per month), Viviana Power Tech (65 MW/130 MWh; Rs 188,993 per MW per month), Ultimate Flexipack (450 MW/900 MWh; Rs 189,000 per MW per month) and Rajesh Power Services (65 MW/130 MWh; Rs 189,000 per MW per month)

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work consists of design, construction, and operation of the storage system along with all necessary infrastructure up to the delivery point. It also encompasses the construction of transmission lines and adherence to the metering and dispatch protocols set by the state load dispatch center and GUVNL.

Earlier in September 2025, GUVNL issued a tender for the development of 250 MW grid-connected wind power projects under Phase X.
