PFC Consulting has issued a tender to set up an interstate transmission system to enable the evacuation of renewable energy at the South Kalamb Substation in Maharashtra. The project will follow a build, own, operate, and transfer model.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work entails setting up transmission infrastructure, comprising three 1,500 MVA, 765/400 kV interconnecting transformers, two 330 MVAr 765 kV bus reactors, and two 125 MVAr 420 kV bus reactors. It will also involve multiple 765 kV and 400 kV bays and sectionalisers.
In addition, it covers the design, engineering, procurement, erection, testing, and commissioning of the assets. It also entails preparation of a detailed project report, financing arrangements, project management, and land acquisition, along with obtaining the right-of-way, statutory approvals, and permits.
Furthermore, bidders are required to submit a bid bond of Rs 102 million. Successful bidders must also provide a contract performance guarantee of Rs 255 million, equivalent to 5 per cent of the total capital cost, within ten days of receiving the letter of intent. The deadline for bid submission has been set for December 26, 2025.
