Gentari commissions 150 MWp open access solar project in Maharashtra

Gentari has commissioned a 150 MWp open-access solar project in Dahegaon village, Yavatmal district, Maharashtra. The project is connected to the state transmission utility and is reportedly among the largest in the state serving in-state commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers. It enhances Gentari’s capacity to supply renewable electricity within Maharashtra under the state’s green open access mechanism.

The plant is expected to generate around 248 million units of electricity annually. Additionally, it is also expected to reduce an estimated 238,576 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. With this addition, Gentari’s total commissioned capacity for the C&I segment in Maharashtra has crossed 225 MWp.

In March 2025, Gentari Renewables completed the first phase of a two-phase transaction with Brookfield Asset Management, acquiring 1 GW of solar and wind assets of Brookefield’s 1.6 GW operational portfolio in India.
