thyssenkrupp nucera inks FEED study for 600 MW green hydrogen project in Europe

thyssenkrupp nucera has inked a front-end engineering design (FEED) study for a green hydrogen project in Europe. The water electrolysis plant will have a capacity of approximately 600 MW. The company aims to ink an engineering, procurement, and fabrication (EPF) contract in the next phase.

The realisation of the project is subject to a final investment decision thereafter, which could be taken in 2026. thyssenkrupp nucera offers technologies for highly efficient electrolysis plants. It has expertise in the design, procurement, and construction of electrochemical plants. It has installed over 600 projects with a total capacity of more than 10 GW.

Earlier in October, the European Union granted funding to thyssenkrupp nucera’s advanced SOEC project, allocating up to €36 million to support the construction of a 300 MW green hydrogen production plant.
