ReNew Solar Power, ACME Solar Holdings, and Adani Renewable Energy Holdings Twelve (Adani Green Energy Limited) have been awarded a total of 600 MW capacity in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) Tranche XVIII auction for 1,000 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects.
ReNew secured 250 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.04 per kWh, ACME Solar won 300 MW at Rs 3.05 per kWh, and Adani Renewable Energy secured 50 MW at Rs 3.10 per kWh. The tender, which was floated in September 2024, allowed bids ranging from 50 MW to 500 MW per bidder and required projects to be located within India. Renewable energy components, including storage, could be co-located or spread across multiple sites, with the option to connect to the ISTS network at different substations.
SECI has permitted partial commissioning of projects, mandating a minimum capacity of 50 MW for the first phase. All projects must utilise modules listed in the latest Approved List of Models and Manufacturers by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
Earlier this month, the results of SECI’s Tranche XVII auction for 2,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects integrated with 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh energy storage systems were announced, with NTPC Renewable Energy, Sembcorp Green Infra, Solarcraft Power India 8, Hero Solar Energy, and Reliance Power emerging as the winners.
