HPCL issues tender for 78 MW renewable power

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has issued a request for proposals (RfPs) for a 78 MW renewable energy project to be located anywhere in India. The project is a part of long-term open access.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes the creation of either an inter-state transmission system or an intra-state transmission system, operating at a 132 kV or higher voltage level, linked to clean power projects. The work also encompasses land identification, project installation, ownership, establishing connectivity, obtaining necessary approvals, and integrating power into the network.

Additionally, the bidders are required to furnish Rs 15.8 million as an earnest money deposit. Within 30 days from receiving the letter of award, the selected bidder is required to submit Rs 1.5 million per MW as performance bank guarantee. The aim is to deliver clean power to HPCL. The designated endpoint for delivery is the trombay substation, where HPCL obtains power for its Mumbai refinery. The developer will also be responsible for supplying power to this refinery in Maharashtra. Additionally, the developer will be accountable for power evacuation from the generation source to injection point. The bid submission deadline is November 29, 2023.

In August 2023, HPCL floated two empanelment tenders for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and supply of modules. Out of the two tenders, one is to empanel EPC and operations and maintenance players for setting up solar projects, while the other tender is for appointing module suppliers to procure solar modules.
