TAQA Power to develop two 5 MW solar power projects in Egypt

TAQA Power, a subsidiary of the TAQA Arabia Group, has announced that it will construct two solar PV power plants with a cumulative capacity of 5 MW in the Red Sea’s beach town of Somabay. The two solar power plants are expected to lower the Soma Bay’s environmental effect. Every year, a large number of tourists visit this coastal town on the Red Sea, which spans almost 10 million square metres. The project will require an investment of $4 million. TAQA Power will enter into a PPA with Abu Soma Touristic Development, which administers the Soma Bay beach resort.
