The Government of Estonia has launched the first round of auctions for renewable energy projects. The maximum feed-in premium has been set at Euro 53.70 per MWh with a ceiling of Euro 93 per MWh. The current round of auction, which will close on March 18, 2020, will only apply to renewable energy systems with a generation capacity between 50 kW and 1 MW. After this procurement exercise concludes, Estonia will seek to install enough capacity to generate 5 GWh of clean electricity every year from 2021 onwards.
