1 GW solar agrivoltaic project announced in Malaysia

The Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute plans to construct a 1 GW solar project, which will incorporate livestock farming in the Sabah state of northern Borneo. The institute, which is jointly owned by car manufacturer Perodua and automotive company Arus Jaya, has already secured $50 million for Phase I (200 MW) of the project. The solar park will be put up on a 25,000 hectare area with solar panels deployed on barns and warehouses. The project will be jointly developed by South Korean biomass company NET Kovina Co., Ltd and Malaysian-South Korean company Max Legacy Sdn Bhd.
