Bank Windhoek issues first green bond in Namibia

Namibia’s largest locally owned bank and its second largest lender bank Windhoek has issued the country’s first green bond to finance eligible green projects and assets. The bond is listed on the Namibia Stock Exchange and raised $4.74 million on a private placement basis. According to sources, the bond has a coupon rate of the three-month Johannesburg Interbank Agreed Rate plus 150 basis points.
