SECI has invited RfS bids for the development of 2,500 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects under Tranche I. SECI has fixed a ceiling tariff of Rs 2.93 per kWh for the tender. As per tender guidelines, a single bidder is allowed to bid for a minimum capacity of 200 MW and a maximum of 500 MW. The minimum project size that can be developed at a single location is 50 MW. In case of a shortfall in generation, the developers will have to pay a compensation to SECI. In case of overgeneration, SECI will purchase the excess power generated at the PPA tariff. SECI will sign the PPA with successful hybrid project developers for a time period of 25 years from the PPA signing. The projects are expected to be implemented on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. The last date for bid submission is August 8, 2018.
