Jain Irrigation Systems secures 5,000 solar pumps order from MSEDCL

Jain Irrigation Systems Limited has received a letter of empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of 5,000 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The order is valued at Rs 1.17 billion, and is scheduled to be completed within 60 days.

Furthermore, the scope of work includes the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of the SPWPS. The systems will comprise 3 horsepower (HP), 5 HP and 7.5 HP agricultural solar pumps.

In June 2026, Jain Irrigation Systems, along with its partners, commissioned a 20,000 tonne per annum high-tech industrial-scale biochar facility in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. The facility has a processing capacity of more than 50 metric tonnes of agricultural and fruit-processing residue per day and is aimed at advancing climate-smart agriculture, circular manufacturing and engineered carbon removal at commercial scale.
