Shakti Pumps invests Rs 110 million to set up 2.2 GW solar manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh 

Shakti Pumps (India) Limited has invested Rs 110 million in its wholly owned subsidiary, Shakti Energy Solutions Limited (SESL), through subscription to equity shares. The investment will support the establishment of a greenfield high-efficiency solar domestic content requirement (DCR) cell and solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, with a production capacity of 2.2 GW.

Furthermore, SESL is engaged in the manufacturing of solar structures and solar rooftop solutions and is expanding into the manufacturing of solar DCR cells and solar PV modules. The investment will be made in cash through the subscription of equity shares of SESL.

In September 2026, Shakti Pumps received a letter of empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for 10,000 off-grid solar PV water pumping systems across Maharashtra. The pumps, with capacities of 3 horsepower (HP), 5 HP and 7.5 HP, will be deployed under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. 

In January 2026, Shakti Pumps secured an order from Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited for the installation of 16,780 solar PV water pumping systems under Component B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan scheme.
