Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed an MoU with HyperVault AI Data Center Limited (HADL) to supply renewable energy to the company’s upcoming data centre facilities in Telangana. Under the agreement, SECI will explore the development of captive renewable energy projects and support land identification and transmission connectivity to facilitate reliable power supply to the facilities.
In September 2026, SECI issued a request for proposals to lease two parcels of agricultural land in the National Capital Territory of Delhi for developing agri-photovoltaic power plants. The selection will be conducted through a competitive bidding process, with the bid submission deadline set for October 7, 2026.
Also in September 2026, SECI signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited for the supply of 50 MW of solar power integrated with a battery energy storage system. The project is expected to generate around 135 million units of electricity annually, and reduce carbon emissions by more than 96 tonnes per year.
