Hyosung T&D India Private Limited has secured an order for the Kakinada static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) project. The project involves a utility-scale STATCOM application as part of a green hydrogen transmission scheme.
The STATCOM will support grid stability for green hydrogen production. Furthermore, it will regulate voltage during rapid load changes and suppress harmonics generated by large electrolyser loads. The system will also provide fault ride-through capability and support compliance with grid codes, helping maintain reliable operation during grid disturbances.
Hyosung T&D India Private Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of South Korea-based Hyosung Heavy Industries Corporation. It operates in the manufacturing, research and development, technology, and marketing of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear and STATCOM.
