Torrent Green Energy commissions 322 MWp decentralised solar projects in Maharashtra

Torrent Green Energy Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited, has commissioned 322 MWp of ground-mounted decentralised solar projects across Nashik district, Maharashtra. The project is developed under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 scheme, and spans 50 locations across 14 talukas of Nashik district. Power generated from the project will be supplied to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited under a 25-year power purchase agreement.

Furthermore, the decentralised solar projects will supply clean energy closer to agricultural demand centres, enabling daytime electricity supply to farmers while improving grid efficiency and reducing distribution losses. They will require coordinated development across multiple locations, including land-related activities, grid connectivity, local clearances, engineering and construction works.

In March 2026, Torrent Power raised Rs 20 billion through the private placement of secured, non-convertible debentures (NCDs). The issue comprised 200,000 NCDs with a face value of Rs 100,000 each and a coupon rate of 7.97 per cent per annum.
