National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NIRL NCRTC Renewables Limited (NNRL) for the development of a 110 MW captive solar plant. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 4.5 billion, will be developed in Jaulan, Uttar Pradesh, through an 80:20 debt-equity funding model and is scheduled to be commissioned within 24 months.
Furthermore, the solar plant is expected to meet nearly 60 per cent of the electricity requirement of the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. The project is expected to reduce NCRTC’s annual electricity expenditure by around 25 per cent and lower carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 0.177 million tonnes annually.
In June 2026, NCRTC and NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, incorporated a joint venture company NNRL, to develop grid-connected solar projects. NIRL holds a 74 per cent equity stake in the joint venture, while NCRTC holds the remaining 26 per cent.
