Indonesia has launched 14 solar power projects as the first phase of Indonesia’s 100 GWp solar programme. The projects are targeted for completion by 2029. The programme involves a total investment of Rp1,140 trillion, while the projects announced in the first phase are estimated to require an investment of Rp135 trillion.
Furthermore, the projects have a combined capacity of 5.3 GW. Two out of the 14 projects are already operational, six projects are under construction while six projects are awaiting investor participation. The projects include the 300 MWp Gilimanuk solar power plant, which is expected to generate up to 470 GWh annually and reduce fuel consumption by approximately 151 million litres annually.
Additionally, the projects also include the 605 MWp PLTS Madura, the 636 MWp PLTS Jatigede and the 1.25 GWp PLTS Cirata solar power plants. The solar rollout will be implemented in stages, initially targeting 17 GWp, 18 GWp and 30 GWp, totalling 65 GWp, before reaching the 100 GWp target.
