EDF signs hybrid PPAs with NV Energy in Nevada

EDF Power Solutions North America has signed two 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with NV Energy for the Winston Energy project. The project is located in Lyon County, Nevada. The project combines 400 MWac of solar capacity with a 400 MW/1,600 MWh battery energy storage system. The project is expected to commence operations in October 2029.

Furthermore, the project is expected to produce approximately 1,110,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, enough to power approximately 100,000 Nevada homes. The project is also estimated to offset  carbon emissions equivalent to those from more than 187,000 passenger vehicles annually. Project construction is expected to create over 400 jobs, while the project could generate approximately $100 million in local tax revenue over its operating life.

In June 2026, EDF Power Solutions North America signed a 30-year PPA with the Southern California Public Power Authority for the Utah Solar 1 Energy project in California. The project will deliver power to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power from a 300 MWac solar facility in Millard County, Utah. Commercial operations for the project are expected to commence in mid-2027.
