Hindustan Power secures Rs 11.35 billion IREDA debt for 300 MW solar project

Hindustan Power has achieved financial closure for its 300 MW solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has sanctioned debt of Rs 11.35 billion for the project. With the financial closure in place, the project will now move to the next phase of implementation. The project has a long-term power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).

Earlier, in March 2026, Hindustan Power received a letter of intent to explore the Padhar Platinum Group Elements (PGE) block in Madhya Pradesh. The block spans around 200 square km and has been identified as a promising area for PGE exploration, which is critical for advanced industrial uses and energy transition technologies.

In November 2025, Hindustan Power emerged as the winner of a bid from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for the development of a solar and battery energy storage project.
