Trinasolar introduces typhoon-resistant solar PV module series

Trinasolar has launched a typhoon-resistant photovoltaic (PV) module series. The product has a top-end MAX configuration, based on the Vertex N Shield, and is rated for static mechanical loads above 8,000 Pa. In comparison, the standard typhoon-resistant module can withstand a rear-side mechanical load of up to 4,500 Pa, against the 2,400 Pa supported by conventional modules. Furthermore, the MAX frame of Trinasolar’s typhoon-resistant modules offers 30 per cent higher downward load capacity and 67 per cent higher upward load capacity. This is supported by a frame that is 10 per cent wider and 11 per cent thicker, for improved load transfer. The module also features a self-locking clamp inspired by mortise-and-tenon joints, which can reduce installation time by around 25 per cent and minimise loosening caused by vibrations.

In addition, the reinforced dual-glass design of the modules can withstand 75 mm hailstones at a 60-degree tilt. The module has also received IEC 61730 A+A and UL 61730-2 Type 30 fire certifications. Furthermore, for tracker-based installations, Trinasolar integrates the modules with cloud-based wind monitoring systems. When wind speeds surpass set thresholds, the trackers automatically shift to protective stow positions, with the stow angle adjusted according to the prevailing wind conditions.
