Gurīn Energy secures licenses for 379 MW solar projects in South Korea

Gurīn Energy has secured 379 MW of electricity business licences (EBLs) in South Korea. The licenses cover three utility-scale solar projects. The three projects are located in Jindo Island and Goheung-gun within Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City. The projects include 216 MW Jindo Green solar project, 65 MW Jindo Jido-yeomjang solar project and 98 MW Goheung Nuri solar project.

Additionally, the Goheung Nuri project is being developed jointly by Gurīn Energy and Kumyang Green Power. The Jindo Green project and Jindo Jido-yeomjang projects have completed their EBL acquisition, while the Goheung Nuri project has secured half of its planned EBL capacity. The projects will have a combined capacity of approximately 500 MW and will generate enough electricity annually to supply around 200,000 households.

In October 2025, Gurīn Energy acquired EDP Renewables APAC’s wind and solar project portfolio in South Korea. The projects have a combined installed capacity of 303 MW. The acquisition expanded Gurīn Energy’s South Korean development portfolio to more than 600 MW.
