NTPC Mining Limited (NML), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited expressions of interest (EoI) for the development of a cumulative 50 MWp/40 MWac ground-mounted solar capacity under the renewable energy service company model. The proposed capacity comprises 25 MWp/20 MWac at the Pakribarwadih coal mining project, located at overburden dump-C in Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand, and 25 MWp/20 MWac at the Talaipalli coal mining project, located at MGR Bulb Area in Sundargarh district, Chhattisgarh. The bid submission deadline is September 1, 2026.
According to the EoI guidelines for the Pakribarwadih coal mining project, the scope of work includes developing a 25 MWp/20 MWac solar plant with a minimum DC/AC ratio of 1.25, using 590 Wp or higher domestic content requirement (DCR)-compliant solar panels. The project must be completed within 18 months, with the developer responsible for required clearances, construction power and water, and a 0.5–1 kilometre (km) double-circuit transmission line for power evacuation. The project must achieve a minimum 22 per cent capacity utilization factor (CUF) and include metering, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and robotic cleaning systems with provision for wet cleaning.
According to the EoI guidelines for the Talaipalli coal mining project, the scope of work includes the development of a 25 MWp/20 MWac solar plant with a minimum DC/AC ratio of 1.25, using 590 Wp or higher DCR-compliant solar panels. The project must be completed within 15 months, with the developer responsible for construction power and water, required clearances, and a 1–2 km, 33 kV transmission line connecting the solar plant to NML’s 132/33 kV substation. The project must achieve a minimum 22 per cent CUF and include metering, SCADA, and dry robotic cleaning systems with provision for wet cleaning.
