Exide Industries Limited has invested nearly Rs 1 billion in its wholly owned subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL). The investment is part of the company’s approved plan to invest up to Rs 14 billion through subscription in EESL. The funds will be used to set up a greenfield multi-GW lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
EESL allotted 28.57 million equity shares with a face value of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 25 per share to Exide Industries, raising nearly Rs 1 billion through the rights issue. The rights issue took Exide Industries’ total investment in EESL to Rs 49.02 billion.
Earlier, in March 2026, Exide Industries Limited made an investment of Rs 4.5 billion by way of subscription in the equity share capital of EESL. The company has allotted 112,500,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each at a premium of Rs 30 per share to EIL.
