Sol Systems reaches financial close for 123 MW US solar portfolio 

Sol Systems has achieved financial close for its 123 MWac Peoria Solar Portfolio located in Illinois, US. The projects represent an investment of $355 million and are being financed through Sol Systems’ revolving construction warehouse facility. The projects will be developed across Knox, Tazewell and Peoria Counties. The projects are expected to become operational in 2027. The projects are also expected to generate approximately 280,000 MWh of electricity annually, enough to power over 25,000 US households. 

Furthermore, the project debt was arranged by BBVA, ING Capital LLC, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB Division), National Australia Bank, Natixis CIB and NatWest, along with Raymond James Renewable Energy Investments providing tax equity. SOLV Energy has been selected as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the projects. building on its partnership with Sol Systems that began with the Eldorado Solar Project in southern Illinois. Upon completion of this portfolio in 2027, Sol Systems and SOLV Energy will have partnered on more than 550 MWac of solar projects across the US. 

In March 2026, Sol Systems acquired the Wolf Creek Renewable Energy Center located in Saline County, Illinois, US. The project was acquired from US Solar and has an installed capacity of 250 MWac. US Solar advanced the project through land acquisition, permitting and grid interconnection, securing a conditional land use permit in September 2024. The project is also a part of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s (MISO) DPP-2022 interconnection cycle.
