AmpereHour Energy launches BESS manufacturing facility in Pune

AmpereHour Energy has inaugurated its battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing and integration facility in Chakan, Pune. With a planned capacity of 5 GWh, the facility will focus on the integration of Make in India cabinet and containerised battery DC-AC blocks for utility-scale as well as commercial and industrial applications.

Furthermore, the facility combines AmpereHour Energy’s hardware-agnostic architecture, proprietary energy management systems, subsystem engineering and advanced safety design with the AH Factory Suite, the company’s digital factory quality management and product testing platform. This allows complete traceability, performance validation and a faster transition from factory to field.

In May 2026, AmpereHour Energy commissioned a 180 MW/360 MWh BESS project for IndiGrid at Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s substation. The standalone BESS project has been developed under the tariff-based competitive bidding framework.
