Sungrow has introduced its C&I PowerStack On&Off-Grid solar storage solution. The solution is designed to provide continuous power supply while supporting C&I users in achieving their decarbonisation goals through flexible system configuration and multi-scenario adaptability. It supports multiple operating modes, including virtual power plant, demand control, virtual synchronous generator, backup power, seamless switching and black start, enabling operation across diverse grid conditions.
The solution is available in two configurations. The DC-coupled architecture combines the SH125CX hybrid inverter with the ST245CS-S energy storage system, integrating solar, battery storage and diesel generation into a single energy system. It enables seamless transitions between grid-connected and off-grid operation. For facilities with power demands of up to 250 kW, the product eliminates the need for an automatic transfer switch cabinet. It also allows direct charging of the battery from solar energy, improving system efficiency and renewable energy utilisation. The AC-coupled configuration combines the SG series PV inverter with the ST255CS storage system and ATS1250. It enables seamless load transfer during grid outages and can automatically start and synchronise a diesel generator during extended outages. The storage system can be integrated with existing PV installations through plug-and-play installation without requiring modifications, reducing retrofit costs.
The solution offers seamless on/off-grid switching with MW-scale black-start capability and can be scaled from a single unit to multi-cabinet systems. It also helps reduce peak demand charges, optimise self-consumption and lower diesel consumption, while enabling remote monitoring and operation through iSolarCloud and enhancing safety through proactive risk warning, three-tier overcurrent protection and three-tier fire suppression.
