FIMER launches PVS990 central inverter series

FIMER has launched the PVS990 central inverter series, designed to convert the DC generated by solar modules into high quality, carbon-free AC for feeding into the power distribution network. The series is designed for utility-scale solar applications and offers an efficient and cost-effective power conversion solution. The PVS990 features a compact, scalable design with power capacities ranging from 2 MW to 8 MW. Each module is equipped with dedicated DC input and AC output sections, enabling easier termination and installation. The inverter supports DC input voltages of up to 1,500 VDC and is equipped with extensive electrical and mechanical protection to ensure a minimum service life of 25 years.

The inverter incorporates advanced grid support features, including fault ride-through and power quality management, enabling compliance with global grid codes. Other features include extensive DC- and AC-side protection, easy commissioning without the need for a separate chiller installation, a design aimed at minimising system costs for large-scale PV plants, industrial data communication through supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and life cycle service and support through FIMER’s global service network.
