Grenergy signs 1 TWh power supply deal in Chile

Grenergy has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA), securing a 15-year contract to supply 1 TWh of electricity annually to an investment-grade global utility in Chile. The agreement will be effective between July and October 2026. The agreement involves supply of electricity during non-solar hours from the Elena battery energy storage (BESS) project in the Antofagasta region.

Elena project currently has 3.5 GWh of installed storage capacity and is planned to expand to 7 GWh. The project comprises 624 battery containers and 6,240 battery units. The project forms part of Grenergy’s Oasis de Atacama platform, which is being expanded to 2.5 GW of solar capacity and 14.1 GWh of energy storage by 2028. Together, the Oasis platforms will comprise a portfolio of 5 GW of solar and 22 GWh of storage capacity.

In May 2026, Grenergy entered into a 20-year PPA with Georgia Power in US for the supply of renewable energy and associated renewable attributes under the Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription (CARES) 2023 programme. The agreement covers the entire output from the Beaver Creek hybrid project, which is estimated to generate approximately 400 GWh of energy annually.
