NHPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the supply of electricity from NHPC’s 260 MW Dulhasti Stage-II hydroelectric project located in the Kishtwar district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Under the agreement, UPPCL will purchase power from the project for 40 years from its commercial operation date. The hydropower project had an estimated cost of Rs 10.18 billion.
Earlier, in June 2026, NHPC Limited signed a memorandum of agreement with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for the implementation of the 3,097 MW Etalin hydroelectric project on the Dri and Tangon rivers in the Dibang Basin.
In May 2026, NHPC Limited declared the commercial operation date of the fourth 250 MW unit of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, effective May 8, 2026. The project comprises eight units, each with a capacity of 250 MW, thereby taking the project’s total planned capacity to 2,000 MW.
