Jupiter International launches 1.25 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing unit

Jupiter International Limited has commenced commercial production of 1.25 GW of tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cells with the inauguration of its Unit IV at the company’s manufacturing campus in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. The addition has increased the company’s total solar cell manufacturing capacity from 2 GW to 3.25 GW. 

Earlier, in February 2026, Jupiter International Limited and Vikram Solar Limited entered into a strategic domestic cell procurement agreement. Under the agreement, Vikram Solar will procure up to 2 GW of  the approved list of models and manufacturers compliant  high-efficiency TopCon and mono passivated emitter and rear cell solar cells. 

In January 2026, Jupiter International Limited received a letter of empanelment worth Rs 649.5 million for off-grid solar pumps. The LoE was issued by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Maharashtra’s power distribution utility.
