Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has inked an MoU with MahaGenco Renewable Energy Limited (MahaGenco REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited. The agreement aims to jointly explore and develop renewable energy projects and emerging clean energy technologies in Maharashtra and across India.
Furthermore, the collaboration will focus on the development of firm and dispatchable renewable energy, round-the-clock renewable power, battery energy storage systems, pumped storage projects, green hydrogen, green ammonia, power trading, and project monitoring consultancy services. The partnership has a potential project pipeline of up to 5 GW and combines SECI’s expertise in renewable energy development and power trading with MahaGenco REL’s project development capabilities.
In May 2026, SECI signed a power purchase agreement with Waaree Forever Energies Four Private Limited, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, for the development of a 300 MW wind power project in Dwarka, Gujarat.
