Gujarat Government notifies Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026  

The Government of Gujarat has unveiled the Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026, which includes incentives and support measures for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), large industries, mega projects, innovation, and sustainable industrial development. The policy promotes green industrial development through measures such as green industrial parks, wastewater recycling, zero liquid discharge systems, cleaner production technologies, and the circular economy.

The policy aims to drive investment, innovation, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable industrial growth while supporting the vision of Viksit Gujarat se Viksit Bharat@2047. The policy focuses on attracting investments, generating employment, promoting MSMEs and sunrise sectors, enhancing ease of doing business, and fostering inclusive development. 

In addition, the policy identifies several thrust sectors for targeted support. A few of these thrust areas are the green energy ecosystem and sustainability-focused industries. The green energy segment covers green hydrogen and green ammonia, electrolysers, renewable energy equipment, battery storage systems, and fuel cells. 

Meanwhile, the sustainability-focused industries include municipal solid and liquid waste recycling equipment manufacturing. These sectors will be eligible for enhanced incentives to promote investment, innovation, and sustainable industrial development in the state. Moreover, the policy will remain in force for a period of 5 years from June 1, 2026.
