Mahanagar Gas Limited and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation ink agreement for 350 TPD CBG plant in Mumbai

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have inked a concession agreement for phase I of a compressed biogas (CBG) plant at Mankhurd, Mumbai. The plant will have a processing capacity of 350 tonnes per day (TPD) and is designed to convert organic waste into clean energy.

The facility will use municipal organic waste collected from selected hotels, vegetable markets, and kitchen waste sources. This waste will be processed to produce CBG, helping create a sustainable source of energy while reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills.

Mahanagar Gas Limited is an Indian natural gas distribution company with GAIL India as its promoter. It operates a network in Mumbai and nearby areas. The company serves over 1.65 million domestic PNG customers and more than 4,000 commercial and industrial customers.
