NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has incorporated a joint venture (JV) company with National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) under the name NIRL NCRTC Renewables Limited. The JV has been formed to develop grid-connected solar projects. NIRL will hold a 74 per cent equity stake in the company, while NCRTC will hold the remaining 26 per cent.
In April 2026, NLC India Limited entered into a loan agreement worth 100 million with KfW to support the company’s renewable energy initiatives, particularly in solar generation and battery energy storage systems. Additionally, the agreement is expected to provide access to capital at competitive rates while also helping diversify the borrowing portfolio of NLC India Limited.
In January 2026, NLC India Limited fully commissioned its 300 MW Barsingsar solar power project in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. The project has been implemented under the central public sector undertaking scheme of the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
