Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has invited bids for development of 20 MW/120 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) at its 165 MW gas power plant complex in Vadodara. The last date for online bid submission is June 25, 2026.
According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes the design, engineering, procurement, testing, commissioning, and 10 year operation and maintenance of BESS based on vanadium redox flow battery technology for GIPCL. The project will be executed on a single engineering, procurement, and construction basis with single point responsibility, covering all associated electrical, mechanical, and civil works at the 132 kV GIPCL substation, with performance measured at the point of injection..
Furthermore, the bidder must submit a tender fee of Rs 5,900, and an earnest money deposit of Rs 11 million in the form of a bank guarantee. Additionally, the successful bidder is required to submit a security deposit cum performance bank guarantee equivalent to 10 per cent of the contract value within 30 days after issuance of the letter of intent.
